This is a very enjoyable read about the women that came to Jamestown from London in 1621 as prospective brides to the colonists. This is the second book in the series "A new love for the Jamestown Brides" and can be read as a stand alone book.Diana comes to America looking for an older man who is well established, can provide for her well and will leave her wealthy upon his passing. She finds such a man in Arnold who is looking for a companion in his later years. Upon Arnold's death Diana finds that although she did not love Arnold as a wife loves her husband she has deep feelings for him and experiences a tremendous sense of guilt after his after his passing. Will she be able to overcome her guilt and accept the love of another?I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I received an ARC of this book from the author, Indiana Wake, and this is my voluntary and honest review. This is a wonderful book about Diana's journey by ship from London to the frontier America to find a husband and to secure her right to own land and her own business. She succeeds on all counts and even finds true love in the end. I had trouble putting this book down after I started reading it. Indiana did a wonderful job of keeping my interest and creating a beautiful love story. I highly recommend this book and the series.

A great book. A young lady who had worked along side her Father had willed the business to a brother that cared nothing for it or is sister decided to go to the New World nd marry there. A 'm who had lost his woe many years ago but still missed her had met the young lady who listened to him had asked for her hand. A must read for those who enjoy historical western romance kindle books from Amazon at a special price and from a delightful author who keeps me entertained throughout the entire book before putting it down.

Due to circumstance Dianna came from England via ship to Jamestown in the New colony. She does not any longer believe in marriage for love and married Arnold. He is an older man of means. After his death she is comforted by the minister, Jude. Will she every come to trust and believe in her own self and goodness. Will she ever find real and true love? This is a very good read and I'm sure you will enjoy it. I'm looking forward to the next episode about new women looking for love in the New land.

I’m really loving this series! This is my favorite book in this series so far. The book description gives enough info to let you know what the story is about. It’s different. It’s interesting. It had enough twists and turns added to the already wonderful plot, that kept me from putting the book down until I finished it. It is well worth reading! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book. I can’t wait to read book 3.I was given this ARC. I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

I liked Jane and how she had the gumption to move with the Virginia Co., to America. She found a great husband and the two made out well together. I would have loved to hear how Jane’s brother who inherited his fathers millinery shop made out, miserably I hope! Good characters and adventure

I really love Indiana Wakes' new series. This is a new area of mail order brides that has not really been looked at. Yes it is fiction but you still can enjoy the read and learn some history. The book it well written.

This is the second book in this series about the Jamestown Brides and finding husbands and friends that are together

Not all stories are quite appropriate for all grades, but could be used with older elementary on up. The authors selected have retold compelling accounts of childhood memories. Especially enjoyed Avi's. I did wish that more authors had been included that my students are familiar with, and many stories seemed set in the same time period--but this will be a powerful teaching tool in my upper elementary classroom!

This book, written by an impressive cadre of authors, offers children and those who love them, avenues for conversations that might not enter the context of growing and learning.

I enjoyed these short stories from various children's authors.

I plan to read many different stories from these volumes to teach memoirs to my students. Each short story is written from the author's perspective and shows many different voices.

Charming well written stories will inspire young readers and writers

this book was required for my son school, so far he likes it. it is kind of thick. hope he finish to read it in the summer.

Good Morning Yoga: A Pose-by-Pose Wake Up Story, by Mariam Gates Sarah Jane Hinder

Review

“After helping young readers gently end their days in Good Night Yoga (2015), Gates and Hinder return with a salutation for their mornings. . . Hinder's playful illustrations animate Gates' descriptions and affirmations. Each character fully embodies his or her pose as if ready to leap off the page. The balance of bold and soft colors mirrors the energizing yet focused movements of the stretches. Young readers will easily see themselves in one of the many diverse children in the book. Also included are a recap of the poses with short instructions and a guided visualization that adults can read to children. An energizing yoga practice portrayed by lively and diverse characters that should inspire multiple readings.”—Kirkus Reviews“This book lays the groundwork for our kids, and it can springboard them into the world with confidence, resiliency, and a deep awareness and connection to what is best in us. Good Morning Yoga teaches kids (and adults) how to connect to that deepest part of ourselves through some very simple steps. A great book that can give our kids the fundamentals of a good life—a life that comes from living from the inside out.” —Congressman Tim Ryan, author of A Mindful Nation: How a Simple Practice Can Help Us Reduce Stress, Improve Performance, and Recapture the American Spirit     “Mariam Gates’ ability to entertain while teaching correct yoga poses at the same time amazes me. Good Morning Yoga is perfect for kids, but I have to admit that I had a blast practicing while reading it, so I wouldn’t limit it only to young yogis. This book is perfect for anyone looking to incorporate a fun yoga practice into their children’s lives. I can just picture families and classrooms full of kids memorizing and reciting the practice in unison as they go through Mariam’s brilliant routine. This should be a part of every school’s curriculum and family’s wake-up ritual.” —Kathryn Budig, yoga teacher and author of Aim True     “Reading through Good Morning Yoga is a delightful excursion into yoga for kids. Mariam Gates weaves in the beautifully illustrated yoga postures in such a uniquely creative and exciting way. From fiery volcano and noble mountain to playful doggies and gentle streams, yoga becomes something that is just plain fun to do—even for us old folks! Young children are going to LOVE this book. It’s just so gorgeous to look at. Take a breath and jump in. The birds begin to sing, the day dawns, and [kids] breathe in and breathe out. What a great way to start a young life. I wish I’d had this book when I was five!” —Beryl Bender Birch, author of Power Yoga, Beyond Power Yoga, and Yoga for Warriors     “As a mother and as a yogini, the importance of sharing yoga with our youngest generation is paramount. Imagine a world where every child learned the poses in this beautiful book. I know Good Morning Yoga is going to help make the world a better place.” —Sarah Gardner, founder, Yoga Reaches Out     “This joyful and inspiring book offers an incredible way to start your child’s day. It’s filled with adventure and possibility—a perfect balance of story and practice. My daughter loved it and immediately asked to read it again. When we tried the sequence together, it felt as good for me as I imagine it did for her.” —Jennifer Cohen Harper, author, Little Flower Yoga for Kids: A Yoga and Mindfulness Program to Help Your Child Improve Attention and Emotional Balance     “Mariam Gates has done it again. She brings beautiful cadence to a series of postures with which kids can engage time and time again. Your family will love this accessible adventure into yoga, and the pitch of Mariam’s poetry is perfect. Kids of all ages will remember the rhythm of her rhymes for years to come.” —Elena Brower, author of Art of Attention, founder of teach “Good Morning Yoga is absolutely perfect! As a father of three little ones, I’ve learned that what’s interesting to them is fun, familiar, playful, and colorful. This book is awesome. Our 3 year old son loves doing this book with me. It's also a nice book to just read as well without having to do the poses. But it's a lot of fun, gets you and your child up and moving, and teaches them at the same time. I have "Good Night Yoga" as well...love that too!

The newest book by Gates and Hinder continues to delight children and help adults direct their learning. As a former professor of Children's Literature, I found myself making plans to use the book with a class (I retired 15 years ago!). My approach would involve teaching one posture (page spread) a day along with talking about the text--maybe even singing its words. Ask the child what the text says that isn't in the illustration, and then ask what the illustration shows that isn't mentioned in the text. Parents and teachers will imagine many ways to use the books by Gates and Hinder and children will look forward to a new adventure every time the books are opened.

This would be much better as a board book, it’s hard to put the book down to do the stretches/poses and just became annoying to try and use this at the same time as doing the stretches which kind of defeates the purpose. Nicely written though.

Wonderful, well and simply written, pleasingly illustrated book to encourage a happy day! To me, helping our children (and ourselves!) to greet each day -- to stretch, to breathe, to have an "attitude of gratitude" -- is one of the most important things we can do. Marian Gates' book encourages just this happy, positive approach to morning -- no small thing to help our kiddos get off to a good daily, can-do start! Yes, "Good Morning YOGA" encourages a happy attitude of "I've got this!"Good Morning YOGA makes, in my opinion and recent experiences, a perfect gift for any child /new baby in a household that does yoga or which might be amenable to this stretch-breathe-greet approach, even if parents don't "do yoga".

Our whole family loves these yoga books. We to the Good Night Yoga routines as well and it is just a great way to start and end the day. Our daughter loves the illustrations and studies each child in the book to understand what she should do. Mountain and Boat pose are her favorites.

Our 8 year old has SPD. This book has been great for helping her ease into yoga and work on those deep calming breaths. She's been able to use some of the moves in class to calm herself down. Our younger kids also love to listen and practice along with her.

Great visual product for kids. 7 year old likes to read it and do the poses, 1 year old likes to try to copy the poses in the pictures. Very clear, cute pictures. There is a page with all the poses, so sometimes we set up the book on a picture stand with it open and go through the poses without reading the whole book. There is a page with positive self thought that is nice. This is a great way to start off our homeschool day :D

Every household with children, every library and children's hospital would benefit with copies of this book. I cannot recall, but if it is not yet in several languages it ought to be, as it is a book which reaches out to the universal need of any age group to find their inner peace and thus enabling a truly kind interaction with people.

I love this book and think it will be a great tool for helping my emotional son get in touch with his feelings and his body and reduce stress overall but he's a little young still. He does like to watch me read the book and do the poses so I'm hoping that after doing it every morning for a while, he'll want to participate. The story is really cute and doesn't take long to go through so it's a great introduction to yoga for anyone, really.

I love the idea of this book, and I did learn a lot of interesting trivia about how the states' borders were formed. The problem is with the book structure... it's alphabetical by state, which means you'll be reading the same trivia twice for each border, for example, the border between Connecticut and Massachusetts is discussed in both states' chapters. This gets old after a while. And also, the reason for some borders (e.g. the 36°30' latitude that came out of the Missouri Compromise (slavery allowed below, not above) affects several states, so you read about it over and over again. I can see why organizing the book was challenging, but I wonder if there was a better / less tedious way.If you love geography and US history, you'll still get a lot out of this book.

This is an excellent reference source. It strength is also its weakness, because each state's story must stand on its own there is a great deal of overlapping, repetitious information between it and the states that border it. Short of making the story one long narrative of the nation as a whole it would be hard to avoid this rehashing. It would also leave you having to dig to find the story of your state among all the others. On the other hand, I found the reuse of trite phrase throughout the book tedious after a while. The test of a good writer is to make old stories interesting and fresh. Mark Stein might have done a better job there. As usual with Kindle the illustrations are limited to viewing page size so enlarging can be a problem (because of the nature of the maps less so in this book that others I've read) and the illustrations were not linked to references in the text. If the text mentioned Fig. 13 you had to flip forward to find figure 13 - and then flip back to pick up where you were. Sigh! One last point I liked is that if I want to learn more about, say, Colorado's eastern border you can go to the Table of Contents and select Kansas. Quick and easy!

I found this interesting and informative, but was frustrated by the frequent repetitions and illogical organization. Yes, I know this was a bestseller and a television series, but there is room for improvement. The alphabetic-by-state-name organization is the least useful possible; instead, start with an alphabetical listing of state names ( for those who must have it), linked to chapters organized by state (or colony) creation date, o by geography, sweeping generally from east to west. This way, the discussions of intrastate boundaries would only have to be given one time,

This book provides some fascinating insight into the history that literally shaped our country. Even if you don't read the entire book, which I recommend you do, it is a great reference book if you are interested in particular states. Some state borders were set for obvious and logical reasons, such as rivers, etc. However, some borders defy logic until you see the politics and debates going on at the time. Just think of the task of carving the Louisiana Purchase territory into states. Or, settling claims of the colonies when the states were formed. Most interesting and highly recommended.

This is a good reference work. It tells how each of the states became formed and what geographic and political factors were involved. For example, Utah lost the northeast corner of the state to Wyoming which became a complete rectangle as a result: two factors were involved: Geographically there is an imposing mountain range cutting across the northeast corner of what could have been Utah that would have made transportation, administration and logistic support of the trans-mountain section of the potential Utah difficult. Politically, many senior congressmen and senators were prejudiced against the Mormon leaders of Utah and happily jumped at the chance to take territory away from Utah. While the book is episodic, telling as it does 50 stories about the states of the county, Mr. Stein tells the stories interestingly and will obvious academic research. It is a good addition to any library of American history.

Well, I am american, but I loved this book ! I read it aloud to my husband and we had maps, and google and all sorts of stuff as "aids". The maps in the book are very very good, but we liked it so much we supplemented the maps with more maps !I had always looked at a map of the US and thought it was a straight line here, a squiggly river line there. Not so ! The book is logically laid out. The maps are excellent. We howled over the drunken surveyors (well, there were no roads and the terrain can get pretty tough..). We loved the true story of Ellis Island. A lot of mysteries over the formation of the original 13 colonies was solved. All the states (maybe with the exception of Wyoming) had border disputes when it came time to nail down exactly what real estate was going to make up a state. Yes, sometimes it got bloody, but by and large each state-to-be worked out its differences peacefully with their neighbors. I think that says a lot of good things about how the nascent USA citizens worked well with each other. Sure beats some of the wars and invasions that have gone on in Europe for centuries.Highly recommend this book. I haven't seen the history channel series based on this book. But this book should be a school textbook. It's that informative . Loved it.

You would think this would be about the most boring book possible, but it's just the opposite. I first borrowed a copy at the library, but liked it so much that I bought a used hardback edition (the condition of which exceeded my expectations). If you enjoy reading American history, you'll like this one. I never really thought too much about the states' borders, but when you read this, you realize that every line has a reason. And too often that reason involved conflict and bloodshed. Those innocuous little lines have a dark history.

Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom (Caldecott Honor Book), by Carole Boston Weatherford Kadir Nelson

From School Library Journal

Starred Review. Grade 2-5–Tubman's religious faith drives this handsome, poetic account of her escape to freedom and role in the Underground Railroad. The story begins with Tubman addressing God on a summer night as she is about to be sold south from the Maryland plantation where she and her husband live: I am Your child, Lord; yet Master owns me,/drives me like a mule. In resounding bold text, God tells her He means for her to be free. The story is sketched between passages of prayerful dialogue that keep Tubman from giving up and eventually call upon her to be the Moses of [her] people. Deep scenes of night fill many double pages as the dramatic paintings follow her tortuous journey, arrival in Philadelphia, and later trip to guide others. Shifting perspectives and subtle details, such as shadowy forest animals guarding her while she sleeps, underscore the narrative's spirituality. Whether filled with apprehension, determination, or serenity, Tubman's beautifully furrowed face is expressive and entrancing. A foreword briefly explains the practice of slavery and an appended note outlines Tubman's life. The words and pictures create a potent sense of the harsh life of slavery, the fearsome escape, and one woman's unwavering belief in God.–Margaret Bush, Simmons College, Boston Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. From Booklist

Weatherford's handsome picture book about Harriet Tubman focuses mostly on Tubman's religious inspiration, with echoes of spirituals ringing throughout the spare poetry about her struggle ("Lord, don't let nobody turn me 'round"). God cradles Tubman and talks with her; his words (printed in block capitals) both inspire her and tell her what to do ("SHED YOUR SHOES; WADE IN THE WATER TO TRICK THE DOGS"). Nelson's stirring, beautiful artwork makes clear the terror and exhaustion Tubman felt during her own escape and also during her brave rescue of others. There's no romanticism: the pictures are dark, dramatic, and deeply colored--whether showing the desperate young fugitive "crouched for days in a potato hole" or the tough middle-aged leader frowning at the band of runaways she's trying to help. The full-page portrait of a contemplative Tubman turning to God to help her guide her people is especially striking. Hazel RochmanCopyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved

I bought this to give to an adult English as a Second Language student. She absolutely adores it. We've read it twice. It made her cry because she sympathizes with Harriet so much. And my student is very religious, so she loves Harriet talking with God. It also encouraged her in her own writing. The illustrations are beautiful and tell the story even without the words - good for teaching extensive reading.I can't say how the book would go over with kids, but this teacher and her low intermediate student give it four enthusiastic thumbs up.

This book is so good! Wonderfully written account of Harriet Tubman and her role in the Underground Railroad. It brought me to tears the way it was written. Perfect for young kids and old alike.

Great book and easy for children to read and understand.

I loved the interaction between God and Harriet. It's an inspiring story about faith and perseverance. My son and I truly enjoy this book!

This is so beautiful and lyrically written.. Buy this book to honor a true heroine of slavery. My 4 year olds loved it and i loved reading it. This is our 10th slavery book and my favorite along with "Henrys Freedom Box". If your wondering how to talk to your kids about slavery times, this is a good start.

This book is very touching and inspirational. I enjoy reading it to my 5-yr old.

Great read and would be a good addition to the classroom.

I purchased 12 books for Black History Month and my son loved this one especially. The pictures are brilliant and the story is beautifully written for young minds to understand.

Grade 6 Up–This makeup artist to the stars has created a glossy, how-to guide for teens. Using a diverse group of young women as her models, Mason transforms them using seven distinctive makeup looks: "classic," "cool," "sweet," "sporty," "retro," "glamorous," and "way-out-rageous." The colorful, well-composed photographs show each look, while additional illustrations help re-create it. One section offers essential tips for good skin care and basic makeup techniques and another discusses matching makeup to one's star sign. The list of basic colors and types of makeup doesn't include brand names or exact colors, which may frustrate those looking to copy the look exactly. Fans of beauty how-to books will definitely enjoy the visual presentation. Readers particularly adept with a mascara wand and eye pencil will want to try out the tips featured in the book. The title of this book is misleading, because when I hear the word "teen," I usually think of pink glitter, sleep over parties, and garish makeup. Apparently that's not what Linda Mason thinks of when she hears the word. The book is well-written, with detailed descriptions of all makeup application techniques and makeup items, and she assumes nothing of the reader. The techniques she demonstrates are useful for everyday wear and perfect for anyone that's had trouble coordinating their eye and lip makeup without looking like a clown. Moreover, Mason includes girls of many races, with different facial structures, hair and eye colors, and recommends makeup techniques for almost all of them. Overall, this book is perfect for teens and adults alike - the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that she sometimes assumes that consumers have more access to professional makeup than they do (she advocates mixing primary colors in addition to using pre-mixed ones, etc). Give this book a try; you won't regret it.

Not much useful info, no demonstration of techniques, and some strange/outdated makeup suggestions - like putting one big blue DOT of eyeshadow above and below each eye. :-/

bought this for our middle school library and it has been a great success, especially with a special needs student who is a reluctant reader. This books caught her attention and she has read it voraciously

good for learning

Perfect for my niece! Classic makeup styles as well as fun funky play styles. Great tips for eyebrows and skin

a little dated and doesn't cover a lot of the basics....purchased for a tween granddaughter---it did not capture her interest even tho she loves makeup

I bought for my daughter and she looked at it and said it was not very helpful for any purpose of doing makeup different ways, she knew everything in this book and more.

Wasn't what I thought it would be.

Review

A Publishers Lunch Buzz Book “Written with love, told with joy. Very easy to enjoy.” — Fredrik Backman, author of A Man Called Ove   “In a reader's lifetime, there are a few books that will be companions forever. For me, The Red Address Book is one of them. It will comfort you, and remind you of all the moments when you grabbed life with both hands. It is also an homage to the wisdom of women who have lived longer than most of us. One is never too old to learn that love is the only meaning of life—let’s listen to these women." — Nina George, author of The Little Paris Bookshop “A charming, fragile romance.” — Kirkus Reviews   “The Red Address Book is a love letter to the human heart. Full of tenderness and empathy, Lundberg has created more than just a novel—she has created a window into the soul.” — Alyson Richman, internationally best-selling author of The Lost Wife and The Velvet Hours “A warm and tender story about life, memories, and the power of love and friendship. A novel with heart and humor!” — Katarina Bivald, The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend “Sofia Lundberg has written a wonderful debut. The story of the life of Doris is told with a whole lot of love. It is full of warmth and compassion.” — Jan-Philipp Sendker, author of The Art of Hearing Heartbeats “You’ll be hearing a lot about Sofia in the new year if you’re in the UK, but if you’re in Sweden, France, Spain, Germany, etc., etc., you’ll already know how romantic and fabulous her novel The Red Address Book is.” — Lucy Dillon, author of Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts “Doris’s life story is magnetic, and it’s her strong personality and pearls of wisdom . . . that drive the book . . . Fans of Fredrik Backman will find much to like here.” — Publishers Weekly

Sofia Lundberg’s novel, The Red Address Book, does not deliver the comfort and humor promised on the book jacket, although I do agree it is strong tribute to the wisdom of older women and intergenerational devotion. As 96-year-old Doris leaves a written legacy to great-niece Jenny of vignettes from her long and storied life, we also learn why their bond is so strong. I find uplifting that Jenny will head to a more fulfilling life because of Doris’ love, wisdom, and encouragement. That said, close to half the novel describes dailiness—Doris’ current physical frailties and struggles and Jenny’s children’s minutiae. I found this tedious and often painful. The premise of this novel, remembering stories of important people in your address book, sounds delightful. In this case, however, the tone is so depressing, the stories became flat and only mildly interesting. The Red Address Book is impressive as a debut novel, but I am sorry to report disappointing enjoyment factor from this reader.

As I write my review for The Red Address Book by Sofia Lundberg, I am conflicted. I expected to love this novel, but I didn’t. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. I initially thought this book would be somewhat light-hearted, but the novel tackles some very sad topics, aging, death, loneliness and elder care to name just a few.The story was interesting, but it felt dated. Granted, Doris, the main character, is 96 years old. She is frail and her life is ending. Perhaps, it was a purposeful decision to use antiquated language and terms of endearment like “darling” or “the little one,” but why then did I have a similar feeling when Jenny, Doris’ grandniece joined the story. She is a young, modern mother with a special affection for Doris, but her sections didn’t feel authentic to me.The author explains a great deal instead of allowing the story to unfold naturally. Also, big events are glossed over and there is a lack of an emotional response to major tragedies. Some storylines are left unfinished, and some of them defy believability.I may sound ultra critical, and I don’t mean to be, because there is much to like here. The premise of the novel was unique, using address book entries to tell the story was a smart approach. The short chapters helped move the story along. Doris is a fascinating character.I am sure there will be a following for this book, and many four and five star reviews. It could be a case of it is me not the novel. Don’t let my review discourage you from reading it.

Meet Doris, a 96-year-old woman living alone in her Stockholm apartment. She has few visitors, but her weekly Skype calls with Jenny—her American grandniece, and her only relative—give her great joy and remind her of her own youth. When Doris was a girl, she was given an address book by her father, and ever since she has carefully documented everyone she met and loved throughout the years. Looking through the little book now, Doris sees the many crossed-out names of people long gone and is struck by the urge to put pen to paper. In writing down the stories of her colorful past—working as a maid in Sweden, modelling in Paris during the 30s, fleeing to Manhattan at the dawn of the Second World War—can she help Jenny, haunted by a difficult childhood, unlock the secrets of their family and finally look to the future? And whatever became of Allan, the love of Doris’s life?My Thoughts: I was hooked on The Red Address Book from the very first page. I loved Doris, who at 96, looks back on the life she has led, filling in her memories from names in her address book. Stories she narrated for us in alternating storylines take us to the past and then bring us back to the present. I felt as if Doris was a friend, and that her experiences in the past could have happened to people I knew and loved.Jenny is her great niece, with whom she Skypes regularly. So when Doris falls, and then later has a medical crisis, Jenny comes to her in Stockholm, bringing along her youngest child, Tyra. The reunion fills in the blanks for Jenny, and also brings closure to Doris about some missing parts of her life. There was a great feeling of joy, as well as sadness, as the book came to a close. This memorable story is one that I will never forget, and it earned 5 stars,

THE MAIN CHARACTER DORIS 96 YRS OLD WAS BASED ON THE AUTHORS AUNT. I LOVED THIS BOOK AND THE WRITERS STYLE. DORIS HAD AN ADDRESS BOOK (RED) THAT SHE WOULD DRAW A LINE THRU THE NAME OF AN INDIVIDUAL WHEN THEY PASSED AWAY. THE WRITER MAKES DORIS THE WHOLE FOCUS OF THE STORY SHE TELLS THRU THE ADDRESS BOOK. IT GOES FROM CHILDHOOD THRU HER LIFE. I READ EACH CHAPTER WANTING MORE, I COULD NOT GET ENOUGH OF DORIS AND HER LIFE STORY. SHE TELLS ABOUT THE LOVE OF HER LIFE. THIS IS A MUST READ. I WOULD READ ANOTHER BOOK WRITTEN BY THIS AUTHOR.

Doris Alm is 96 years old and is writing about her life by recounting her relationships with the dead people in her address book. She doesn’t want her memories to die with her so she is typing them up for her only remaining relative, Jenny, her grand-niece. Doris and Jenny Skype to keep in touch. One day the home health aid is delayed in getting Doris her food and Doris falls while trying to get something to eat on her own. Her hip fractures and she ends up in the hospital.Jenny decides to go to Sweden to see her aunt before she dies. She asks her husband to try to find her aunt’s one true love if he is still alive because she thinks that her aunt needs to see him again before she dies. There was a lot of sorrow in the book but also a lot of love. I enjoyed reading the book.
