Ohhhh my word, I cannot say enough about this one. I'm a huge fan of Sam Burn's Rowan Harbor Cycle so I was already excited for this, and it's everything I wanted and more. The characters in here are just stunning. I love Greek mythology, and the characters are perfect here. I love the treatment of Persephone, and the use of her story as making the choice to live in the Underworld instead of being tricked and trapped. Zeus is such a dick, which is the way it should be.Lysandros is just the most precious thing I've ever encountered. Despite the suffering in his life he still wants to be better, and has the capacity to be ashamed of his family. Really, the whole Hades branch of the family is fantastic, and there is nothing that could make me like them more.I adored Theo as well. He starts off with such a gift, and doesn't even realize but when he's needed he doesn't even hesitate despite the risk to himself. The relationship between him and Lysandros is beautiful, and watching them overcome their hang ups and learn to trust each other is beautiful. I thought it was so adorable how they both felt sort of inadequate, and were each like "I must constantly compliment and love on this precious person until they know how special they are."Just overall, a truly amazing work. I can't say enough good things about this, and am waiting so impatiently for the next one.

This is a new to me author and I can’t wait to read more from her. I loved Theo he was such a sweet unassuming character who couldn’t see his own worth. Lysandros was such a sweetheart. Theo is a professor at a magical college who teaches theoretical magic and is competing with his office mate, who I couldn’t stand, for a tenor position. He believes he has no shot at it as his office mate can create fireballs, he really is stuck on the fireballs. What Theo has is the ability to kind of drain magic and for whatever reason he feels that this is a useless talent. Lysandros is the only son of Hades and Persephone. A very long time ago he fell in love with a mortal and I really couldn’t tell if she loved him back or was just kind of stuck on herself. Well he did some things and learned a valuable lesson and isn’t going to allow himself to fall for a mortal again. When Theo ends up in the underworld, Lysandros falls for him. When Hermes made some snide remarks Lysandros feels that Theo was intending on using him. Communication guys!! Then we run into issues with Zeus and shenanigans of the other gods and goddesses. I didn’t figure out beforehand who the bad guy was. It didn’t surprise me who they were but I didn’t have it figured out. I can’t wait to continue this series

Prince of Death is the first book in the Lords of the Underworld series by Sam Burns and W. M. Fawkes. I was looking forward to reading this book because I like reading about Greek mythology, and I ended up liking this story a lot. This story is about Lysandros and Theo Ward. Lysandros is the son of Hades and Persephone, and Theo Ward is a human mage and professor. I found the overall story interesting and fun to read. There was plenty of action and danger in this book, and there was a fair amount of romance in this book as well. I liked the characters and the authors’ descriptions of the various Greek gods as well. It did take me a little while to get really hooked to the story, but soon I was hooked. I ended up reading Prince of Death fairly quickly. One of the main things I liked about this story is the relationship between Lysandros and Theo. They had to work to build trust between them and work on their communication skills as well. There were a couple of times the wrong name was used, but that did not change my overall opinion of the story.I recommend this story! I know that I am planning on reading the second book in this series to see what happens next in this universe.I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This book was so enthralling. The characters were so well done and kept you engaged. I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy this given the heavy Greek mythology influences but I couldn’t put it down. And what I do know is not very favorable about Hades and family. But yet you could not cheer for that family. This was such a great spin on the world and the interaction with Theo. What a great story.

I loved this one! These authors were new to me, but I loved their writing style. The story was imaginative and wonderful; a play on the familiar pantheon of Gods. The ending is a HEA, no cliffhanger, and very satisfying. The MCs, as well as the side characters are fully formed and totally intriguing. I’m so excited to see what comes next in the series!

Theo is a teacher of magic, although not a really gifted one. His mother recently died and when a stranger gave him a book that might lead him to his mother he travel down a path that will change everything.Lysandros is the son of Greek Gods. When he comes across Theo he is very taken with him. Thus changing the course of his (very) long life too. Their being together will change the course of humanity. After meeting several of Lisandro’s family, including an interesting encounter with Zeus, Theo isn’t really impressed. An entire pantheon of gods, being vain, selfish, apathetic, creating problems, and acting like the humans they disdain. Not very godlike at all but still dangerous.I liked this take on the Greek myths. The main characters were interesting and the storyline was entertaining. Looking forward to the next book.

Wow this book was so interesting! Greek mythology meeting the modern day world! I love Greek mythology, so I found this book really fun to read! I love all the personalities that the Greek Gods and Goddesses were given too. At first I was a little confused where the story was going, but as I kept reading, I started to get invested in the story and growing romance between Theo and Lysandros. Would recommend to someone who wants a HEA and enjoys Greek mythology!

This book has got to be one of the most unconventional, funny, fantastic, fascinating, engaging, imaginative, snarky, sexy, and unexpectedly different twists on the Greek pantheon mythology I've read in a LONG time! Now I'm eagerly waiting for what happens next.
