I work here in America but my company is owned by a French company. Earlier last month I was required to travel to France to meet with the upper level executives regarding business matters and my trip was to last two weeks. Instantly after hearing the news, I was in a bind because I had absolutely no previous knowledge of the French language...even the simple commands so I went on Amazon and downloaded this e-book to my kindle. Every night leading up to my trip I spent an hour reading and I was able to finish the entire book in less than a week. The content discussed was focused and concentrated so I was feeling good for my trip. However I never appreciated the book until when I arrived to my first meal in France with the upper level executives alongside my English speaking translator. I was able to take part in a meal with all French speaking partners and I was able to fit right in even while being a foreigner! I can contribute my success and confidence in the French language to this book and also the audio section which I listened to on my flight. To make the most out of this book I highly recommend learning the important phrases which are located in the meat of the book, they became and essential when speaking English was not an option. I also want to mention the etiquette section at the end of the book, it was spot on! I recommend this book to anyone traveling to France or looking for a fun way to learn French. I have since looked into other books since I've been home and no other competitor offers such an easy read and easy way to learn French. My only suggestion is some words are spelled the UK way and not the American way, so when this book becomes a big hit there should be two different versions.

I dream of traveling to France someday and if I get the chance to go, this book will be a big help with the language. There is cultural background of France, and do’s and don’ts of what to do there. The tables in the beginning help describe how to pronounce words correctly. I like learning by sound, and the additional mp3’s that are downloadable are helpful. I’m a beginner to French, yet this book was easy to understand.

I’ve always wanted to learn French, and even took it in high school, but of course forgot almost everything upon graduation. Now I’m in my twenties and I figure the sooner I get serious about learning French, the sooner I can become bilingual, and the sooner I can go on that dream Parisian voyage without getting lost in translation, haha.So I turned to this book for help with phrases and pronunciation, and I’m getting exactly what I hoped for. The nonchalant tone of the author helped me learn more without getting overwhelmed. A lot of language books will simply list the pronunciations of words/letters and it ends up feeling like some sterile rulebook. But a lot of the lessons end with something like “don’t worry, you got this”. It actually helps! There was even some information about the French lifestyle, like taboos and (my favorite) food.The audio that comes with the book is really helpful too. It’s always good to hear the words you’re learning so you can feel fully confident you really understand the pronunciation.SO happy I found this book. My knowledge of the French language has improved, and for that future trip to Paris, now I know to not point at something with my index finger and to never ask for a doggy bag in a restaurant.

I found a lot to love about this book. For an absolute beginner, like myself, there are a couple of very useful features. Firstly, there’s a detailed pronunciation guide, and it tells you more than the sound of the letters. For example, it draws parallels between English sounds and French sounds, and it teaches you tricks for remembering when a letter is silent. If that’s not enough, there’s a link to a free, downloadable French language pack – and if you follow the author on Facebook, he provides additional support with daily words and expressions.This book DOES contain a clickable table of contents. Yay! This makes it super simple to get to the section you want to locate. Since a large portion of the book features phrases you might need in specific situations, the table of contents is invaluable. Can you imagine flipping through the book page by page? I’ve found myself doing this with other Kindle books, and it’s not pleasant. Who knew a table of contents could make me so happy? Ha ha.There’s also a section of the book that teaches you about French etiquette, so you don’t end up looking like a complete tourist while visiting France. I was surprised by a few of the things that were considered to be rude in France, so I am glad they were listed here.The best part of the book, for me, is the phrasebook section. I’m probably not going to master French. I wish I could, but I’m just too busy. I can learn the correct pronunciation and some basic phrases, but I don’t want to learn the entire language. I just want to visit Paris one time before I die and not feel completely clueless. With this book, I can do that. If I need to ask questions about my luggage, I’ll just flip to the luggage section. If I need to visit a pharmacy while in France, I’ll flip to the pharmacy section. If I want to order dessert, there’s a section for that too. So easy!My hubby and I have talked about taking a driving vacation through France. (He grew up in Germany, so he’s braver than me when it comes to driving in a foreign country.) Luckily, there are appropriate sections in this book. They have sections on buying gas, auto breakdowns, and car parts. I hope we don’t ever experience a breakdown in a foreign country but, if we do, we will be prepared.

I do not like the box they are in...as it is flimsy and rips; however, this is super easy to fix----just get your own plastic container afterwards. The cards contain all the need-to-know information and are SUPER HELPFUL and I would definitely recommend purchasing!!!

Wasn't what I expected but had good information. The cards are more paper instead of cards. They are thin and very fragile.

I just don't know how well I like these because I have a drug book and I like the book a little more than the cards. I am also a little particular about keeping items in order so this is a little difficult for me to use. But that is also a personal problem, the cards themselves are very well written and a nice layout for the drugs.

These are incredibly useful if you can find what you are looking for. They are difficult to navigate. I was required to purchase these for my nursing course, but I found a few different resources more useful.

Great product. Saves me time writing med cards and it gives me more information than I even need most of the time.

These drug cards share a lot of information about the specific drug. Used them for my first semester of nursing school and I loved them so much! These drug cards are very very helpful and if your are debating whether to buy or not, get them like yesterday!!! You won’t regret it!

Cards have good information on them but they are extremely thin. They could not be used in clinical because they cannot be cleaned. If you are using them to study they are a great resource but not for use in the clinical setting.

For those who like me, until reading this book, have not heard of Tahir Shah, you might be surprised to hear that his previous book The Caliph's House is one of Time magazine's Ten Best Books of the Year. I love knowing that there is another book waiting for me.In Arabian Nights, Tahir Shah sets off on a journey to find his story. Through his travels the historical value the East placed on the power of storytelling for imparting wisdom is revealed, also sadly how the culture of storytelling is corroding, in danger of vanishing completely. I picked up 'In Arabian Nights' to prepare for a trip to Morocco. I expected a typical travelogue narrative with the author traveling about the country and sharing their journeys throughout. I was pleasantly surprised to realize that this is a different kind of travelogue (if it can even be called that). Though you won't follow Shah on an assortment of trips throughout Morocco (there are some), this book better serves as a form of cultural immersion into Morocco, namely the importance of storytelling and the various (what Westerners would perceive as) superstitions embedded into the culture. Highly recommended for anyone interested in or heading to Morocco themselves.

I'm a new fan of Tahir Shah, this being the third book of his I've read. This is my favorite, so far, and I think it will remain so because of the subtlety and depth of the topic: storytelling. I realized reading this that I already know the story in my heart, and it is very similar to his. It is about coming home and finally understanding the place . . . or at least realizing that the place is worth trying to understand in some mysterious and ancient way. It is about seeing without images and hearing without words.

By the time I reached the end of the Betsy Tacy series, I was so in love with the characters that I was hanging on every word. I'm so glad Maud Hart Lovelace extended the series into adulthood so that we could share the pleasure of what happened to Betsy and friends when they were all grown up. Betsy's adventures in the Great World initiated my passion for traveling in Europe, and Betsy's Wedding gave shape to my dream of happily ever after wedded bliss while gently warning me that nothing is ever perfect and troubles beset us all so matter how idyllic we may wish our lives to be.

Wonderful two books which end the series about Betsy Ray, based on author Maud Hart Lovelace's Minnesota childhood & high school days in the early days of the 1900's. The first books, Betsy, Tacy & Tib...(ages 7, 8, 9, ...etc) are perfect for young kids and so funny to read. The four high school books are a treat & chronicle teenage life a hundred years ago. Great to re-read again and again. In this book Betsy travels in Europe and then comes home to marry her classmate and sometime sweetheart. Their first year of marriage is a sweet book in Betsy's Wedding.

I have always loved the Betsy/Tacy series and when I saw all the books were on Kindle, I went a bit crazy. I have been rereading them all and they are just as delightful as I remember from my childhood.

Adore these books. Read them ages ago as a child, and again as a teen from my local library. Glad to finally call these two classics my own.The last two books in the Betsy-Tacy series follow the original trio, as well as old friends from later books, through the early years of their independence and marriages. Such a sweetly satisfactory ending to this story.

I absolutely love the Betsy-Tacy books, and I cannot recommend them enough to girls of any age. You can grow up with Betsy: share her adventures as a little girl, follow her through the sometimes bewildering world of high school, and finally join her in her world travels as a young woman.When I got my first job in a store, I imagined Joe sitting behind the counter, reading the Three Musketeers while Betsy looked for gifts for her family. When I went backpacking in Europe after graduating from college, I took a copy of Betsy and the Great World with me, and I loved getting to compare the modern Venice to the Venice seen through Betsy's eyes.After the Betsy books my mother gave me when I was little finally fell to pieces from excessive re-reading, I tried to buy more, but was annoyed by the modern cover art (seriously, why would Betsy be in fish net stockings in a book set before WWI?).I'm so delighted that these editions use cover art by the original illustrators. I particularly love Vera Neville's illustrations--they are so beautiful, and bring the characters to life so perfectly.Thank you, Harper Perennial Modern Classics, for publishing such beautiful editions of these wonderful books!

I love this show and I'm so glad I was able to get this book. Scores are great, my only issue is that there seems to be a misprint - I'm not sure if my book is the only one affected. The book goes up to page 24, then resets to page 9 (not just the pagination - it cuts from the middle of 28 Hours to the middle of Welcome to The Rock. Pages 9-24 are repeated). A bit confusing to deal with, but it works fine.
